This installation was created as part of the Extrasensory show, an exhibition for the blind and visually impaired.
Urban and suburban development has rapidly increased the presence of non-places, spaces of anonymity that could appear anywhere. Referencing airports as a metaphor of transitional space, the fluorescent lights create a pathway that guides the viewer towards the dispenser where they receive a ticket to nowhere. The viewers movement across this long space to arrive at nothing emphasizes the impact that development has on creating a world of seeking to get somewhere else, without being able to reach the destination.
